Parting company. A breaking point is reached when obstructions and hindrances become intolerable. Either the opposition is ploughed under or else it seeks to break free and achieve an independent life by asserting its identity. Things are torn apart from within when private disputes become public. Cooperation is evasive and harmony is broken. Often the situation has deteriorated to this level because one or more sides have pushed too hard or resisted needful change too stubbornly.

This is a special group of days within the Metal Season. Some country, somewhere in the world, will experience a constitutional coup at the beginning of these four days. The law of the land will be found to be standing in the way of necessary change and the law of the land will crumble before this necessity.

The Fulfilment:

UK: Queen rumoured to want to be rid of Fergie, preferably by settling with her financially, stripping her of her titles and all rights to her children and sending her into exile. Queen said to have her on a suicide watch --- despondency over forthcoming books and articles. Rather drastic, all things considered. "Parting company. USA: Televised presidential debates tonight between Clinton and Dole. Very polite affair, all in all.

UK: Ulster: Two car bombs hit British military HQ in the province. Second bomb maims people running to help victims of the first bombing. Thirty hurt, altogether, but no deaths. This is the first bombing in Ireland since the IRA ended its ceasefire many months ago. "Parting company at the breaking point.
