Brigantia:
Goddess of Healing and Inspiration
Ancient Spiritstm sells hand-made porcelain pendant jewellery decorated in astrological
themes and Celtic motifs. Welcome to the pages for our Celtic motif jewellery!
Daughter of Dagda, the father of the gods, Brigantia is a major Celtic deity. As a solar goddess,
her realm is that of light and fire. Primarily a healer, her powers are derived from serpents
and water. Serpents possess the mysterious knowledge and healing forces of the earth; water is
the source of spiritual rebirth. Sacred wells and springs are her domain, where she is often
invoked during childbirth. Many rivers in the Celtic world bear forms of her name, attesting to her
association with water. Brigantia controls all aspects of fire and is the patron of smiths as
well as the goddess of the hearth, the centre of the family. As the goddess of inspiration, she
is the muse for musicians, poets and all artisans. Brigantia means brightness or light and as
such she represents healing, awakening and rebirth.
