The Dragons:
Guardian Spirits

Dragons exist in many forms in many cultures. The Anglo-Saxon word "dragon" is derived from
the Greek, meaning "to see clearly", hinting at the dragon's gift of prophecy. As a winged serpent,
the Celtic dragon is a guardian spirit, bringing earthly and celestial forces together into a symbol
of protection and strength. In this role, dragons guard the gates to the netherworlds, protect
the earth and all its inhabitants and keep watch over all knowledge and prophetic wisdom. They
are often portrayed as stylised spirals or mazes, sources of spiritual centring and self-discovery.
Dragon dens are sacred places, sources of the earth's energies and spiritual power, much like
the ancient stone circles of the British Isles. In heraldry, dragons signify sovereignty, wisdom
and leadership.
Illustrated pendants are greatly magnified. Actual size of these pendants is just 1.5" (4.0cm) or
less in diameter and about 0.125" (0.4cm) thick. Each pendant necklace is pierced by a ring and
