Fire Ox: Water Season

The Tao trips over itself and meets resistance. Fire holds no power over Water. This is the irresistible force meeting the immoveable object. Progress grinds to a halt when the desire for peaceful cooperation evaporates. The gears of the world disengage. People simply turn their backs and walk away from their responsibilities "to do their own thing" -- they will refuse to passively play their parts or to live up to the expectations of those in authority. People will be self-absorbed and concerned with local and private problems, not the big picture. Legal issues will have prominence, but court decisions are not likely to be popular. Labour disputes and other forms of popular unrest will be common. Long-standing grievances will force their way into the public agenda and get their due. Tensions will be running high in many parts of the world and the discontent may boil over in small but violent outbursts. The map of the world will be dotted with intensely passionate but parochial disputes, where wounds will be opened and then heal within the limits of this Season.

Weather: generally very wet with much precipitation, but temperatures will be inconsistent. Extreme microclimates are likely, with some areas very cold and snowbound adjacent to areas experiencing unusual warmth and much rain. Very mixed and unsettled weather.
