The Horse:
Sovereignty and Guidance
Ancient Spiritstm sells hand-made porcelain pendant jewellery decorated in astrological
themes and Celtic motifs. Welcome to the pages for our Celtic motif jewellery!
The horse was highly valued by the early Celts for its speed, beauty, energy and economic
importance. It was as well the symbol for Epona and Macha, Celtic horse goddesses of sovereignty.
These goddesses watched over the land, protecting its fertility and insuring an abundant harvest.
As protectors of nature, they granted mortals stewardship over the land, but not total control.
Epona and Macha were goddesses of the stables, guiding and protecting all who worked with horses.
Both goddesses were associated with healing springs and many horse carvings have been found as
votive offerings in sacred wells. As goddesses of maternity and prosperity, they guided and
protected mortals from birth on their journey through life.
Illustrated pendants are greatly magnified. Actual size of these pendants is just 1.5" (4.0cm) or
less in diameter and about 0.125" (0.4cm) thick. Each pendant necklace is pierced by a ring and
threaded through with a black silk cord for immediate use in wearing.
Price: $24 Cdn or $16 US.
